It was first discovered by Glen A who was taken to Green Head on a family holiday when he was 6. At the time he was frustrated because the force of the wind kept on blowing away his blow up Flamingo. All was forgotten until he was in his mid 40's when suddenly the memory came back to him in a recurring dream. Night after night he kept screaming out "My Flamingo, get my Flamingo". So year after year he took his family to various locations along the Mid West coast hoping to find this lost downwind course. The following week at IOP training he was unable to keep his excitement under wraps, shouting out to anyone who would listen "I've discovered the Lasseter's Reef of downwind paddling".
